I am currently replacing my stock front speaker/tweeter setup with Blaupunkt Blue Magic CX 170s. I’m a bit confused on two things...whether to use to the stock crossfaders in the Matrix or to use the in line crossfader Blaupunkt included. I’m also deciding how to mount the speakers, and this requires me drilling out the old speakers’ rivets. When I’m installing the speakers (with the metra adaptor rings) should I use rivets or something else? I really don’t want to do a ghetto setup with wood screws... (UPDATE speaker rivet problem still going on...how do I use lock nuts, bolts, and flat washers to fit the adaptor plate onto the door)
Thanks oppo.

This is just one person’s opinion, but I’d use the crossover that Blaupunkt sent with the speakers since it is tuned for the frequency responses of your setup instead of for the stock speakers.

I think I might do that.

Definitely use the crossover that came with the speakers.
Nuts/bolts should be a no brainer. Pull the plastic screen back and just reach in with your hand.

I would use short self tapping metal screws.
Not sure what this guy used.

put the bracket in the door. line up the holes, put the screw through the hole, put a washer on the screw end sticking through the inside of the door. Start the lock nut on the screw. add in a wrench and screwdriver, tighten. install the speaker, enjoy. also use the included electronics not the ones from the factory.
